These terms apply when you use the ChatMerchant website and the ChatMerchant Shopify app (together, the "Service"). The Service is provided by Anderseen OÜ, a company registered in Estonia ("we", "us"). By installing the app or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
The Service
ChatMerchant lets you connect your Shopify store to ChatGPT. After you install the app and sign in with your Shopify store, ChatGPT can read and change parts of your store, such as products, pages, blog posts, collections, prices and stock, when you ask it to. You give ChatGPT these requests; ChatMerchant carries them out in your store.
The Service is provided on a subscription basis through the Shopify App Store. Billing, free trials and cancellation are handled by Shopify. Some Shopify development stores can use the Service free of charge.
Not affiliated with OpenAI or Shopify
ChatMerchant is an independent product. It is not made, endorsed or sponsored by OpenAI or Shopify. "ChatGPT" is a trademark of OpenAI and "Shopify" is a trademark of Shopify Inc. Your use of ChatGPT is governed by OpenAI's terms and your use of Shopify by Shopify's terms, in addition to these terms.
Your responsibilities
By using the Service you agree to:
- use it only for lawful purposes and in line with Shopify's and OpenAI's terms and policies;
- keep access to your Shopify admin and your ChatGPT account secure, and disconnect apps you no longer trust;
- take responsibility for all changes made to your store through the Service, including changes made at your request by ChatGPT;
- review what ChatGPT proposes before you confirm it, and keep backups of your theme and store data before significant edits;
- not reverse engineer, copy, resell or overload the Service, or try to access data that is not yours;
- not use the Service to store, send or process illegal content.
Access to your Shopify store
You give ChatMerchant access to your store by installing the app and approving the permissions Shopify shows you. We only act on requests that come from a ChatGPT connection you have approved. We do not make changes to your store on our own. You can sign ChatGPT out at any time from Connected apps in your dashboard, and you can remove all access by uninstalling the app in your Shopify admin.
AI output and automated changes
ChatGPT is an AI system and can make mistakes. It may misunderstand a request, write inaccurate text or change more than you intended. Changes made through the Service are applied to your live store straight away. You are responsible for checking the result.
Back up before big changes
Duplicate your live theme before large edits, and check price, stock and content changes before you confirm them. Deleted items cannot be restored by us.
Subscriptions and billing
Fees are charged through the Shopify App Store. You can cancel at any time from your Shopify admin; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not give refunds for partial periods except where the law requires it.
Availability and changes to the Service
We work to keep the Service available but do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error free. It also depends on services we do not control, such as Shopify and ChatGPT. We may change, suspend or stop any part of the Service, and we will try to give reasonable notice of significant changes.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the extent the law allows. We do not guarantee that any particular result will be achieved.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of profit, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including changes made to your store at your or ChatGPT's request. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the three months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the app. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or misuse the Service. When the app is uninstalled, your access ends and we handle your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The current version is always available at this address, and the date above shows when it last changed. If you keep using the Service after a change is published, you accept the updated terms.

Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Estonia. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Estonia, without limiting any mandatory consumer rights you may have where you live.
